Telus World of Science

This weekend we went to Telus World of Science. We've been there before, but we've never seen the planetarium or the observatory, and seeing as it was International Astronomy week it seemed like a good time. Grant wanted to go for his birthday, and Frank is out of town next weekend, so we went this weekend.

Everyone enjoyed the planetarium. I picked one of the shows I thought Mason would watch, and he sat through the whole thing. He even learned a thing or two as he was commenting about the planets when we were near the telescope pictures.

They also had a "bring your won telescope" area where they had people to help. It was great to have some hands on instruction for Grant's telescope. Now, if we could just get rid of these clouds so we could use what we learned. The telescope presentations had to be done indoors because it was cloudy, but just before we left the clouds parted and we were able to view the sun through the telescopes at the observatory. We will definitely have to go back just to see the observatory one night (when it isn't cold, as it's outdoors.) And somehow I didn't get a picture of the observatory, but I wish I had because it doesn't look anything like on TV. More like half a garage with about 5 telescopes in it, that aren't all that big.

We have started sports here too. Last night I got to watch Grant play soccer in 50 degree weather with about 35 mph winds. I will post pics of that later. Pics that I got during the first half, because the second half I spent in the car! We have soccer and Rugby nearly every day of the week. Plus, Grant has swimming, basketball, and running at school, while Tyler has rugby at school as well.

Oh, and our move has been officially scheduled. The movers come July 6 and 7, and plan to move our belongings on July 8. We will be leaving July 9 or 10th! Busy times ahead for us.
