The 1881 School House
Grant's class took a field trip to the 1881 School House. The kids spent the morning as students from the late 1800's. That was definitely an experience. Hopefully, the kids now appreciate their education a bit more. In the afternoon the kids spent some time on Grandma and Grandpa's farm doing chores. Grant was so excited about doing "chores." I tried to explain that he had a full day of chores on Sunday, and I didn't see any of that enthusiasm. I got to run the General Store and help kids weigh out 1 lb of nails and 1 lb of beans. And I learned why they are called 10 penny nails.......because it used to cost 10 pennies for a pound of nails. And the antiques they had were amazing. My grandma would be so proud of all the ones I recognized.
