What do you do when the high is 7 F?

Go to an Ice Festival, of course! Today we went to Ice on Whyte (the name of a major street in the area.) And of course it was cold and snowing out. They had an ice castle, an ice maze, and an ice slide. There was hot chocolate, an ice sculpting contest for professionals, and a movie screen made out of ice. They are going to show a movie this evening, but I can't imagine sitting out there to watch it. We didn't get to stay very long because Mason started throwing a fit and wouldn't keep his gloves on. We were worried about frost bite. Then we took him into the farmer's market next door to warm up his bright red hands. It was more like a small flea market, but quite warm.

The ice thrown in the castle.
The boys on the small ice slide, with the big one in the background. We had to leave before the boys got to do the big one.
Mason loved the ice slide. I think that's what caused the fit. We left the ice slide.

The big boys in the ice maze.
Mason and me in front of the ice bridge. And that is the best coat ever. I don't even feel the cold.

OH my gosh that looks like so much fun. BUT BRRRRRRRR cold. Your kids are going to hate to move back here with all the neat things they are getting to do.

Yeah, there really isn't all that much to do here, but they will totally miss the snow. When we came back from Christmas they played in it for two days straight!

The ice maze and slides are so neat! You look really cute in your big furry black coat!
