Rugby

The boys had their third Rugby match this weekend. I finally got some pictures. I missed the second match when I was in Houston.

This would have been a great pic of Tyler being tackled but these people got in the way. You can see is black and red shoes.

Don't you love the look of that black mouth guard?

He played a outfield type position, so he did lots of running but didn't see much action. They are using the whole field this year, which means lots and lots of running.

This is what is called a scrum. The adults and bigger kids actually do this to fight over who gets possession of the ball (similar to tip off in basketball.) In Tyler's age group they are told who will get possession and just do this as practice. They can get pretty rough when the older kids do it.

Mason spends his time hanging out with all the puppies he finds.

Grant still uses only a quarter of the field for his games, and they still play flag. He made 3 Tries (scores) this game.

Or Mason hangs out with whichever brother isn't playing.

When Tyler's game was getting close to the end it was around 72 degrees. The ref was overheard saying to the boys, "I know its getting hot, but lets just get on with it and it will be over soon." And Tyler's worried about football in Houston being too whimpy of a game for him now that he has played rugby. He's going to be the real whimp if 72 degrees is too hot!

Happy Birthday Mason!

We celebrated Mason's 3rd birthday last night since I won't be home this evening. After attending parties and watching everyone else blow out their candles, Mason was very excited to do it himself. And on a cake he picked out himself. He had a hard time deciding between Nemo and Construction Vehicles. Nemo won out at the last second.

He also got the previously photographed swingset for his birthday. And before we decided to make it to Cooper's party we had planned on having an Unbirthday party this summer for Kennedy, Mason and Cooper. Where there will be more candles and gifts. And even though we made it to Cooper's party we still plan to do it.

Techinically, Mason won't be 3 until after 9 tonight, but hopefully he will be asleep by then.

This Morning

This is what the world looks like this morning.

But look, we have leaves on our trees. And we still have the mud in the streets. They are supposed to wash the streets this week.

Masks

Grant's school had an artist come in and make masks with all of the students over the last 2 weeks. On Friday they had a mask parade and showed off their work. Each class had a theme of some kind of animal or animal groups. Grant made a guinea pig/koala. The intent was a guinea pig, but he said the ears made it look more like a koala.
And this has been a holiday weekend here in Canada. Grant gets tomorrow off and Tyler had Friday off and everyone had today off. And today.....it is snowing! Its not sticking to the ground, but it has been snowing all day long. What a fun spring weekend!

Grandpa's lake

update:Here is a picture of Mason after spending time on the boat. Check out the Wolverine hair!

We all headed out to the lake on Monday. The kids had a great time, and got really tired out. They all got to use their new poles, but no one got a fish. Kennedy and Mason both had close calls, but both of the fish got away.

Baseball Game

Today we headed out to an Astro's game for Cooper's birthday. Cooper ended up napping through half of it, while Mason kept asking if it was over. But Cooper really enjoyed the parts he saw.

Tomorrow is a trip to the lake with grandma and grandpa.

Cooper's Birthday

Mason and I planned a quick trip to Houston for Cooper's birthday party, and mother's day. The big boys and Frank stayed home. We surprised grandma and grandpa. So far we are having a great time, but really tired. These are the party pics. Today we are going to a baseball game, and then on Monday we plan to hit the lake. We are going to soak up as much of this heat as we can before heading back to Canada.

Happy Birthday Grant!

Today we had Grant's 9th birthday party. We went bowling and the kids got to play two games of Laser Tag. Everyone seemed to have a great time. I know Grant did. The place was late getting us the pizza's so we openned presents before eating and had an extra game of laser tag. Then they gave us a huge discount, so it turned out really well.

Yesterday the boys both had rugby games, but I forgot my camera, so no pictures. They now have games at different times so we don't have to go back and forth between them, and the boys can watch each other play. But Mason is quite upset he doesn't get to play.
